Our company has prepared a kind of high-activity composite powder through the spray granulation method, which is characterized by its extremely high sintering shrinkage performance. It is often used in the production of thermal sink materials with large differences in melting points, such as tungsten-copper and molybdenum-copper metal powder mixed powder billet pressing, injection molding and other production processes.
Unlike traditional granulated powders, the salt precursors of the composite powder prepared by spray granulation are tightly bonded at the molecular level during the compound stage. After treatment, spherical oxide powders of two-phase metals are obtained. After reduction, the spherical structure is broken, forming irregular powders with a particle size of 0.8-1.3μm.
Taking W80-Cu20 as an example, when using this powder to prepare the billet by direct pressing, compared with the traditional process, there is no need for pre-sintering and infiltration. After pressing, it can be directly degummed and sintered in a chain furnace in one step, and the sintering density can reach more than 99.5%. It has巨大 advantages in energy conservation, time saving, and improving production efficiency.
When applied to the metal powder injection molding process, its advantages are reflected in low-temperature sintering and shrinkage. When sintering at 1300-1400℃, the sintering shrinkage rate of traditional granulated powder is only 5-10%, and the density is only 85%-92%. The temperature needs to be increased to above 1600℃ for a long time sintering to achieve the product usage standard; while the composite powder only needs 2-3 hours of sintering, and the shrinkage rate reaches more than 35%, and the density is above 97.5%.
Our company can customize W-Cu, Mo-Cu and other multi-metal composite powders with different compositions and ratios according to customer needs.
